About Our Company


RJZ Home Improvements, LLC is a family-owned and operated small business.  Owner and general contractor, Ryan Zaluski, has more than 19 years of hands-on experience in the field. Prior to becoming a licensed home improvement contractor, Ryan was a licensed plumber and gas fitter working in Frederick and Montgomery counties. For almost two decades, Ryan has been involved in many facets of the construction industry.

Ryan established RJZ Home Improvements, LLC to bring his experience, knowledge, passion, and dedication for his work to homeowners who have come to rely upon his expertise, professionalism and quality home renovation services.

Our 10 Step Process

Step #1

Initial Contact. The first step is generally a phone consultation to discuss the initial scope of the project and to arrange an in-home complimentary consultation.

Step #2

In-home Meeting. Next step, is a meeting in your home to review the project, discuss your "ideal" scenario and desidered finish look, expectations, materials, and a proposed timeline for the project. This meeting allows the homeowner and opportunity to get to know us and ask any questions they may have about our company and the construction process.

Step #3

Define Budget Expectations. Discussion to decide if the project and the the homeowner's budget are feasible. By discussing the budget at this stage, we ensure that the project scope is within the realm of your desired budget. During this step, the estimate is a ballpark based on similar projects and materials.

Step #4

Building the Cost Estimates. Prior to the submission of a written construction proposal, we encourage our clients to select all their materials (flooring, cabinets, granite, decking, appliances, custom doors/windows etc.,) to ensure all costs remain within the budgeted allowances. We also invite our subcontractors to review the project to ensure that their bids are representative of a best value. We strive to maintain a "No surprise pricing model."

Step #5

Submission of a Written Proposal. We submit a detailed construction proposal with all job specifications, noted allowances (based on selections), and assumptions.

Step #6

Acceptance of the Project. Once our proposal has been accepted and signed by the homeowners, one-third of the contract cost is due to start the project. Remaining payments are collected after the completion of noted milestones within the project.

Step #7

Construction Phase One. Next step is the preparation of all required drawings/blueprints and applications are submitted for applicable permits. Materials and fixtures are also ordered at this stage.

Step #8

The Schedule. A timeline and construction orientation is presented to the homeowner. We believe open communication by all parties is essential for a successful renovation project.

Step #9

Subsequent Meetings. Weekly status updates are provided to the homeowner. Additionally, status meetings may be initiated by either party during the project.

Step #10

Home. Final walk-through and project completion. Homeowner may now enjoy their newly remodeled home.
